Achieving universal access to affordable, reliable energy and increasing the share of renewable energy in the energy mix requires fundamental, rapid and large-scale shifts towards new technologies.
Technologies capable of expanding energy access and transition to low-carbon energy resources are available and need to be accessed. This paper reviews low-carbon technologies for enabling sustainable energy transition in the Commonwealth, describing the range of resources and innovations that can facilitate a sustainable energy transition, and exploring case studies of how energy access has been successfully expanded.
