This paper proposes the effective use of Aid for Trade (AfT) programmes as one possible means of addressing some of the challenges faced by LDCs and small states in the services sector.
It examines possible ways to enhance the capacity and competitiveness of small states and LDCs in developing their services sectors via greater integration into the global trade regime, by utilising the strengths of AfT. The key to optimising AfT in the services sector requires a focus on technology.
