Background
The roundtable will convene under the overarching theme of the Our Ocean Conference: ‘Our Ocean, Our Heritage, Our Future', which celebrates the living connection between people and the ocean.
It will offer a strategic platform for Commonwealth Ocean Ministers to advance discussions on collective progress towards the Apia Commonwealth Ocean Declaration and key ocean priorities under the Commonwealth Secretariat Strategic Plan 2025–2030.

Objectives
- To review the commitments made under the Apia Commonwealth Ocean Declaration and assess progress towards their implementation
- To discuss the implementation of the BBNJ Agreement, with a particular focus on its provisions on Marine Protected Areas, and its contribution to advancing the global target of protecting 30% of the ocean by 2030.
