This paper briefly discusses the macroeconomic effects of low international oil prices and places particular emphasis on the policy implications for Commonwealth countries.
It draws on recent studies by the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and World Bank that discuss available policy options, and uses this to assess the efficacy of Commonwealth oil price-policy responses.
