The Commonwealth Secretary-General has said she is more determined than ever to bring change and end violence against women and girls across the Commonwealth.

The Commonwealth Secretariat has partnered with the Islamic Trade Finance Corporation (ITFC), a member of the Islamic Development Bank Group, and Cameroon’s Ministry of Trade to deliver the first of a series of digital boot camp training workshops to build the capacity of women-owned micro, small and medium sized enterprises (MSMEs) across the west central African country.

The Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting (CHOGM) in Kigali, Rwanda will address global issues and Commonwealth priorities.

This week the Commonwealth Secretariat held a four-day workshop in the Maldives for grassroots female entrepreneurs to help them leverage digital infrastructure opportunities for E-Commerce and Digital Marketing.

As part of the “Commonwealth Inclusive Dialogue and Women’s Political Participation” project, the Commonwealth Secretariat, UN Women and Caribbean Women in Leadership (CIWiL) jointly hosted a three-day workshop on Leadership for Good Governance and Social Transformation in the Caribbean two weeks ago.

Following the establishment of the Commonwealth Women’s Affairs Ministers Action Group (CWAMAG) in May 2021, Ministers reconvened virtually on 26 April 2022 to continue their efforts to monitor the impact of COVID-19 on gender inequality in the Commonwealth.
