Nominees must be a member of a national youth council or a registered youth-led organisation and aged 15-27.

The Commonwealth Youth Council is seeking nominations for its Executive positions including Chairperson, Vice Chairpersons and Regional Representatives.

Nominees must be a member of a national youth council or a registered youth-led organisation and aged 15-27.

Nominations are open until 7 October 2013 for the positions:

  • Chairperson (Africa and Europe region only). The Chairperson role is rotated among the Commonwealth Youth Programme regions;
  • Vice Chairperson for Partnerships and Resources (any region);
  • Vice Chairperson for Inclusion and Engagement (any region);
  • Vice Chairperson for Policy, Advocacy and Projects (any region);
  • Regional Representative - Africa and Europe;
  • Regional Representative - Asia;
  • Regional Representative - Caribbean and Canada;
  • Regional Representative - Pacific; and
  • Representative - Special Interest Groups (any region)

The Commonwealth Youth Council is an autonomous youth-led body, which aims to further advance the youth development agenda and strengthen young people’s participation in the Commonwealth. Its Executive will be responsible for the leadership and strategic direction of the Council.

The first General Assembly of the Council will be held during the Commonwealth Youth Forum in Sri Lanka from 10 to 14 November 2013.

Youth delegates from Commonwealth countries will ratify the Council’s constitution and vote on its inaugural Executive.
