Commonwealth Secretary-General Patricia Scotland has paid a courtesy call to India's Minister for Women and Child Development Maneka Gandhi.

Commonwealth Secretary-General Patricia Scotland has paid a courtesy call to India's Minister for Women and Child Development Maneka Gandhi. 

They met as part of the Secretary-General's first official visit to India.

The minister and Secretary-General pledged to work closer together on ending domestic violence in the home, fighting sex trafficking and combatting child abduction.

They discussed how the Commonwealth's Office for Civil and Criminal Justice Reforms (OCCJR) might help with these issues and the themes for next year's Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting in London.
