Each year a theme is chosen for Commonwealth Day, which takes place on the second Monday in March. The theme informs events to mark the day and helps to guide activities by Commonwealth organisations throughout the year, including the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting.
This year Commonwealth Day will be celebrated on 8 March across the world in a series of virtual events, beginning on 7 March with a service at the UK’s Westminster Abbey.
