The Commonwealth Secretariat, in partnership with the Institute for Economics and Peace (IEP), will launch the Global Youth Development Index (YDI) Update Report 2023 on Friday, 26 April 2024. The report will be launched at Marlborough House, with an online audience from the 56 member states, as part of activities to commemorate the 75th anniversary of the modern Commonwealth.
Hybrid Event: Marlborough House and online
The flagship Commonwealth report provides a multi-dimensional overview of how 183 countries are meeting the needs and aspirations of young people. The YDI report ranks countries according to the level of youth development and provides indicators on 6 domains of youth development: Health and Wellbeing, Education, Employment and Opportunity, Political and Civic Participation, Equality and Inclusion and Peace and Security.
The event will feature key findings and the launch of an interactive version of the updated report. The report will be available to download online after the event.
The event will be attended by high commissioners across the Commonwealth, Commonwealth Youth Networks, Commonwealth Scholars and Fellows, Commonwealth Accredited Organisations and international development partners.
During the meeting, the online and in-person audience will hear from experts and have an opportunity to share their perspectives.
