In partnership with Intel, the Commonwealth Secretariat has developed an AI-driven policy toolkit that enables governments develop strategies and policies using best practices from around the world but customised for their own countries.

Commonwealth StrategusAI is an AI-driven tool that will help policymakers create robust strategies, saving countries both time and money.

The toolkit is an output from the Policy Development Working Group of the Commonwealth AI Consortium, under the stewardship of the Government of Rwanda. The toolkit also benefitted from guidance from Oxford Insights, Sustainable Living Lab, and policymakers from several other Commonwealth countries, who contributed to the design and development of the tool.

The event at the Secretariat’s headquarters at Marlborough House will shed light on this innovative offering which aims to give countries the ability to craft comprehensive policies and strategies that leverage the immense power of AI while protecting the rights and freedoms of citizens.

The tool will be piloted with the policy makers in Fiji and Brunei Darussalam. Going forward, the toolkit will be available for governments from the 56 Commonwealth countries to adapt for their specific needs.

Other speakers from the Commonwealth Secretariat include the Deputy Secretary-General, Dr Arjoon Suddhoo; Assistant Secretary-General, Prof Luis Franceschi; and Senior Director of the Trade, Oceans, and Natural Resources, Suresh Yadav, whose team developed the toolkit.
