Data Skills to Inform Policy and Decision-Making.
Researchers, data scientists and statisticians from the Commonwealth are invited to a workshop for learning about using data for informing policy.
Data Skills to Inform Policy and Decision-Making will take place virtually on 30 November from 11am to 3.45pm GMT.
It will include opening remarks from Commonwealth Secretary-General Patricia Scotland.
The digital skills capacity-building workshop is a joint event between the Commonwealth Secretariat and Eurostat, which co-ordinates data and statistics for more than 25 national statistics authorities.
It will be the first in a series of four workshops on the themes of technology, innovation and digitalisation.
Need for data sourcing, management and analysis skills has been made more urgent as nations grapple with developing and modifying evidenced-based policies to deal with the current global pandemic.
The workshop comes after the recent UN Data Forum which highlighted the global skills gap in data sciences.
