The Digital Connectivity Cluster of the Commonwealth Connectivity Agenda is organising its first ‘Deep Dive Session’ on the topic ‘Digitising Trade Facilitation: the Regulatory and Legislative Framework for Improving Transparency and Efficiency in the Global Trading System’.
The event entails an in-depth analysis and discussion among member countries on the requisite steps to create an enabling environment for digital trade facilitation. Participants will be encouraged to share their experiences and lessons learnt, as well as identify any areas for further development or collaboration.
The event includes two parts:
Session 1 - Presentation by UNCITRAL: Model law on electronic transferable records
Presentation by the United Nations Commission on International Trade Law (UNCITRAL) on the role of advanced technologies in overcoming COVID-19 disruptions in international trade, highlighting the UNCITRAL Model Law on Electronic Transferable Records
Session 2 - Joint consultative panel discussion: Best practices in digital trade facilitation
This session will showcase multi-sectorial perspectives in relation to digital trade as well as highlight best practices and experiences in order to foster discussion and knowledge sharing.
