The inaugural Commonwealth Awards for Excellence in Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) implementation in Small States will be hosted by the Commonwealth Small States Centre of Excellence at the InterContinental Hotel in Malta on June 26-27, 2019.
These Awards aims to incentivise implementation of the SDGs by rewarding and recognising countries for their commitment and effective SDG implementation. They will also create a platform for countries, particularly small states, to share and discuss SDG implementation lessons, practices, experiences and methodologies.
Senior government officials will have the opportunity to learn best practice from countries leading in SDG implementation methodology. Participants will also be invited to share their own views on challenges and experiences in SDG implementation, and will benefit from a Commonwealth presentation on its SDG implementation toolkit.
