Hosted by the Government of Lesotho, the 37CHMM will be convened under the theme: “Investing in Health: Sustainable Financing for an Equitable Commonwealth”. It will bring together health ministers, senior government officials, and global health leaders from across the Commonwealth and will examine:
- Innovative financing models and approaches for strengthening healthcare systems and fostering health equity
- Advocate for adequate investment to address non-communicable diseases (NCDs) to improve health outcomes for the people of the Commonwealth
- Practical solutions to bolster climate resilience and promote healthy ageing
- Approaches for scaling up the uptake of digital tools to facilitate data-driven decision-making and increase access to healthcare services
Discussions during the 37CHMM will also focus on how to take actions forward following the Leaders’ Statement at the 2024 Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting in Samoa and the Ageing Well in the Commonwealth: A Roadmap for Healthy Ageing report, which was launched in October 2024.
At the 36th Commonwealth Health Ministers Meeting 2024, ministers pledged a joint action to help create resilient health systems for small and vulnerable states.
Through the 36CHMM Ministerial Statement, they also underscored the need to assist SIDS in developing climate-resilient health systems, tackling global and national shortfalls of health and care workers and addressing the Commonwealth’s rising burden of non-communicable diseases (NCDs).

The 2025 Commonwealth Health Ministers Meeting (CHMM), chaired by the Government of Lesotho, will be held on 17 May 2025. The following events will be held during this period:
