Host Broadcaster
The Host Broadcaster (HB) for CHOGM Samoa 2024 is Radio 2AP, the public broadcaster for Samoa. Radio 2AP falls under the Broadcasting Services Division of the Samoa Ministry of Communications & IT.

Host Broadcaster feeds
The HB-generated live feeds (HD 1080i 50) will be available at the Media Centre as SDI signals and can also be accessed via LiveU Matrix.
LiveU clients wishing to access the HB-generated live feeds via the CHOGM Samoa 2024 LiveU Matrix, should email [email protected] as soon as possible.
A schedule for the available live feeds will be provided by the HB and will be updated daily between the 21 October and 26 October.
Support staff from LiveU Australia will be onsite at the Media Centre to provide assistance to the HB and other broadcasters and accredited media.
Accredited media wishing to access the HB-generated live feeds at the Media Centre, can connect directly to SDI ports.
The number of SDI ports is limited and broadcasters who require a port must book by 14 October 2024. Please email [email protected] to secure a booking.
Recorded files
Recorded files will be made available in the Media Centre’s file server storage.
Accredited media wishing to access the file server storage from the Media Centre will use Edit while Ingesting capability.
- The file format will be XDCAM EX 1080i 35 Mbps in a MXF wrapping.
- Edit while Ingesting editing with MXF is supported by Final Cut Pro, DaVinci Resolve, Adobe Premiere Pro, Avid Media Composer (V8.3 or later) with Sony (Nablet) XAVC XDCAM AMA Plugin 4.5.3 or later.
NOTE: Users won’t be able to store their content on the server. They must have their own storage.
Broadcasters who are not present in Samoa will be able to download all recorded files via LiveU Cloud and via Google Drive.
- On LiveU Cloud, file format will be H264 in a .mp4 container.
- On Google Drive, file format will be Apple Pro Res in a .mov container.

Edit facilities
The HB is providing four bookable edit booths available for hire for US$500 per hour.
These edit facilities do not come with any editors but are connected to the Media Center file storage server.
