The Commonwealth Secretariat is seeking to engage a qualified In-country Coordinator in Mauritius to assist in delivering a coastal climate risk rapid assessment. This part-time, short-term consultancy will include identifying and coordinating with the government and stakeholders in the selected country, liaising with the Commonwealth Secretariat and its delivery partner, the Stimson Center, to assist in executing the project plan, including the timely completion of rapid assessment surveys by local stakeholders. The consultancy is open to individuals and to consortiums of more than one person.
The preferred Contractor or consultancy firm should hold the profile below, which should be outlined in a concise cover letter and CV:
- University degree required in a field relevant to environmental management, climate change, marine ecology, ocean sciences, social sciences, etc.
- Demonstrable experience of more than 3 years in working with government departments and stakeholders; ideally, relevant to coastal planning and/or climate change in the respective country;
- Excellent interpersonal skills;
- Excellent communication skills to build collaborative relationships and supportive engagement with stakeholders;
- Skilled at managing competing priorities and meeting tight deadlines;
- Solid writing skills;
- A strong commitment to partnership and collaborative approaches.

Evaluation will be based on both competency and cost. Where submissions are similar in quality, preference will be given to Contractors that are Commonwealth citizens or entities registered in a Commonwealth country.
