The Institute of Commonwealth Studies is the only postgraduate academic institution in the UK devoted to the study of the history and politics of the Commonwealth and of Commonwealth countries.
Part of the School of Advanced Study at the University of London, the Institute of Commonwealth Studies sits at the crossroads of research, policy, human rights practice and international relations. The Institute's aim is to lead impactful research, education and collaboration on challenges to strengthen democracy, human rights, and the rule of law in the modern Commonwealth and globally. The Institute is also home to the longest-running interdisciplinary and practice-oriented human rights MA programme in the UK.
