Secretary-General joins celebrations for 60th anniversary of Queen’s Coronation

Commonwealth Secretary-General Kamalesh Sharma attended a special service to celebrate the 60th anniversary of HM Queen Elizabeth II’s Coronation at Westminster Abbey in London, United Kingdom.

Mr Sharma read a lesson at the service on 4 June 2013 where the Queen’s commitment to public service and her qualities of devotion and self-sacrifice were praised.

The Queen, who is Head of the Commonwealth, was crowned at Westminster Abbey on 2 June 1953, nearly 18 months after she succeeded her father, King George VI.
