The Commonwealth Secretariat is pleased to announce Matt Patterson’s appointment as Interim Spokesperson and Director of Communications.
Matt Patterson has spent the past 15 years working in Government, international non-governmental organisations and international development communications.
He has worked for two Chancellors across two Governments at the British Treasury, was Head of Communications for a Department for International Development programme in Myanmar and most recently spent time consulting for individuals and development projects across Africa.
He brings a huge amount of media and communication experience to his new role, including a wide range of experience in both Westminster and internationally.
“I am excited to be joining the Commonwealth Secretariat.” Matt Patterson said.
“At a time of global uncertainty, the mission and mandate of the Commonwealth are more important than ever. Effective and professional communications are a bedrock of success for public institutions and enable an organisation to achieve its goals and serve its members. I look forward to working with the extremely capable communications team at the Secretariat to promote the invaluable work that Commonwealth does around the world.”
