The reception was attended by (left to right): Ban Ki-moon, United Nations Secretary-General, Merleen Leonce, Chargé d’Affaires, Office of the Deputy Secretary-General at The Joint Office for Commonwealth Permanent Missions to the United Nations, Caroline Dinenage, UK MP, Parliamentary Under Secretary of State for Women, Equalities and Family Justice, and the hosts Mr Christopher Grima, Permanent Representative of the Republic of Malta and Ambassador Peter Wilson, Chargé d’Affaires of the United Kingdom.
Mr Ban spoke at the reception, referring to the collaborative relationship between the UN and the Commonwealth.
