Secretary-General to visit Cameroon

15 December 2017

Commonwealth Secretary-General Patricia Scotland will arrive in Cameroon this evening to start a five-day official visit.

In Yaoundé, the Secretary-General will meet with President Paul Biya and Prime Minister Philemon Yang, in addition to ministers, opposition party leaders and civil society representatives.

Secretary-General Scotland said, “I am very much looking forward to my first visit to Cameroon as Secretary-General. As a valued member of our Commonwealth family, this visit will allow me to not only get to know the country and its people better but, more importantly, discuss concrete ways in which the Commonwealth can support Cameroon’s efforts to address the pressing challenges it currently faces."
