Queen to attend Commonwealth Heads of Government Lunch

Her Majesty The Queen and His Royal Highness The Duke of Edinburgh, will attend a lunch at Marlborough House, Headquarters of the Commonwealth Secretariat in London on Wednesday 6 June.

The lunch is being held to honour the Queen, Head of the Commonwealth, on the occasion of her Diamond Jubilee. Guests will include Heads of Government.

Commonwealth Secretary-General Kamalesh Sharma will greet the Royal Party when they arrive. The Queen and Duke will also meet guests at a pre-lunch reception, at which the Commonwealth Youth Orchestra will play.

After lunch, the British singer Laura Wright will perform ‘Stronger as One,’ written to commemorate the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee.  Following this, The Queen and Duke will again meet guests in the gardens of Marlborough House, and take part in a group photograph with Commonwealth leaders.
