The Commonwealth is hosting a high-level panel discussion titled "Empowering Women: Disability and Inclusion in Diplomacy through Sport" on 3 July 2024.

Empowering talks

In celebration of the extraordinary abilities of athletes with disabilities, the Commonwealth Secretariat, in partnership with Women in Diplomacy and the High Commission of Antigua and Barbuda, will host the event at the Secretariat’s headquarters at Marlborough House in London. The event aims to shed light on the connection between sports, diplomacy, and disability, with a specific focus on the empowerment of women with disabilities.

The afternoon will feature inspirational stories from women who have overcome stigma and discrimination in the sporting world. There will also be a panel discussion with influential guests exploring the role of diplomacy in promoting inclusion in sports and strategies to combat stigma and discrimination against persons with disabilities.
