The Commonwealth Secretariat is hosting a Commonwealth Election Professionals (CEP) training event for the Commonwealth Caribbean & Americas region in Port of Spain, Trinidad and Tobago, from 20–24 April 2026.

The Commonwealth Election Professionals Initiative is an Australian-funded, multi-year project that provides professional development opportunities to election professionals in Electoral Management Bodies (EMBs) across Commonwealth member countries.

About the regional training event

The Caribbean & Americas Regional Training Event is being delivered in partnership with the Elections and Boundaries Commission of Trinidad and Tobago, which is also marking its 50th anniversary of administering elections in the twin-island Caribbean country.

This event will bring together electoral administrators from across the region, including a representative from one of the regional UK Overseas Territories, Turks and Caicos Islands.

Programme overview

The five-day training programme builds on the success of the CEP Asia Regional Training held in Colombo, Sri Lanka (May 2025), and includes:

    EMB Strategy Presentations and Evaluations
