Held in Gaborone, Botswana from 15-19 June 2015 the overall theme of the conference will be ‘Local Government Agenda 2030’.
The 2015 Conference theme has been chosen to seek to identify the key challenges facing mayors, ministers and officials in the next 15 years: in ensuring accountable, transparent and participatory democratic practices, in promoting economic growth and technological advance and in developing inclusive and sustainable cities, capable of dealing with global trends such as rapid urbanisation and climate change.
