The 13th Commonwealth Women’s Affairs Ministers Meeting (13WAMM) will be held at the Atlantis Paradise Island Resort in Nassau, the Bahamas, from 21 to 23 August 2023 under the theme ‘Equality Toward a Common Future’.
Hosted by the Government of the Bahamas, the meeting serves as the principal decision-making body for Commonwealth women’s affairs ministers to review progress made towards achieving four Commonwealth priorities for gender equality and women’s empowerment.
The four priorities are:
- Women in leadership;
- Women’s economic empowerment;
- Ending violence against women and girls; and
- Gender and climate.
At this year’s meeting, a special focus will also be on the inclusion of women and girls with disabilities.
The outcomes from the meeting discussions will shape the gender equality agenda for the upcoming Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting, scheduled to take place in Samoa in 2024.

Senior Officials Meeting
The Senior Officials Meeting will take place on 21 August 2023 in Nassau and will be chaired by the Ministry of Social Services and Urban Development, The Bahamas.
High-level Side Event on Transformative Leadership For Gender Equality and Women’s Empowerment
Mrs Ann Marie Davis, Spouse of the Prime Minister of the Commonwealth of the Bahamas, will host a high-level side event on 21 August 2023 under the theme 'Transformative Leadership for Gender Equality and Women's Empowerment'.
