Equipping citizens with the skills needed to thrive
in June 2022, at the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting (CHOGM) in Rwanda, leaders acknowledged the transformative impact of technology on education and reaffirmed the critical importance of equipping citizens with the skills needed to thrive in a digital world. They resolved to address the digital skills gap in the 56 member countries - to build capacity, support development, and stimulate inclusive economic growth.
Empowering youth with AI skills
The next generation of innovators needs the right skills and resources to understand what AI is, how it is designed, and why it is important in today’s digital world.
The program enables youth with tech skills, such as - statistical data, computer vision, and natural language processing, as well as social skills, such as problem-solving, AI ethics, and security.
Digital readiness for public sector leaders
This e-learning programme from the Commonwealth and Intel Technologies aims to develop digital readiness among government leaders and practitioners, highlighting the potential benefits of applying Artificial Intelligence (AI) and other emerging technologies in effective and futuristic policy-making, better public engagements and robust deployments in the 'new normal'.
Commonwealth AI-driven policy toolkit
In partnership with Intel, we've crated StrategusAI, an AI-driven policy toolkit designed to empower governments to develop strategies and policies tailored to their unique needs. By leveraging best practices from around the world, this innovative tool helps policymakers create robust strategies, saving both time and money.

The Commonwealth Artificial Intelligence Consortium
The Commonwealth Artificial Intelligence Consortium (CAIC) journey focuses on empowering Commonwealth nations, particularly small states, through AI-driven innovation. With leadership, governance, and multistakeholder collaboration, CAIC aims to foster sustainable development, bridge the digital divide, and support economic growth across vulnerable economies.
