The Commonwealth Secretariat and the World Health Organisation will host a side event focused on advancing digital health maturity in the margins of the 36th Commonwealth Health Ministers Meeting (CHMM), as part of the broader Global Initiative on Digital Health (GIDH).
Strengthening the future of health services
The event themed ‘The Digital Frontier: Digital Health Maturity as a Cornerstone to Strengthen Health Services’ will provide a platform for senior officials, healthcare professionals and public health practitioners to examine how Commonwealth countries at various stages of digital health maturity can leverage digital technologies to deliver health services.
Participants will also share global perspectives to chart a way forward for many low- and middle-income countries (LMIC) facing challenges in implementing digital health provisions.
The event will be attended by the Commonwealth Secretary-General, Rt Hon Patricia Scotland KC, Chief Scientist, World Health Organisation Sir Jeremy Farrar, and the Director of Digital Health, Dr Alain Labrique. It will also feature the presentation of country case studies and a discussion on critical steps to strengthen the Commonwealth’s Coalition on Digital Health.
