The project involves the development of a reservoir dam on the Djerem River to regulate water flows within the Djerem and Sanaga river basins and optimise existing and future hydropower generation. The dam will improve the performance of the Nachtigal, Edea and Songloulou hydropower plants, as well as future projects including Kikot, Mbakou and Minkouma, particularly during periods of low water flow.
