Passports must be valid for at least 12 months from the date of departure. Visas are required by all Commonwealth nationals. A yellow fever vaccination certificate is required from all travellers.
Traffic drives on the right. Visitors wishing to drive will need an international driving permit. The main roads are paved.
Air charter is available. Buses link most towns and ferries run between coastal ports. Taxis are available in urban areas.
Prevalent diseases where appropriate precautionary measures are recommended include cholera, dengue fever, diphtheria, hepatitis A, hepatitis B, malaria, polio, rabies, schistosomiasis (bilharzia), typhoid and yellow fever. The World Health Organization has recommended vaccination against yellow fever.
