Event: 2021 Commonwealth People’s Forum in Rwanda

As a result of the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic, it is necessary to postpone the 26th Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting (CHOGM) scheduled to take place in Kigali, Rwanda on 22 – 27 June 2020.

The 26th CHOGM and associated events will be held in Kigali. The new date agreed with member countries will be the week of 21 June 2021.

The Commonwealth People’s Forum is the single largest opportunity for people to engage with Commonwealth leaders on global development issues.

The theme of the forum is ‘Advancing Together: Delivering people-centred governance through the Commonwealth’.

The Commonwealth supports the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The People’s Forum 2021 will focus on Sustainable Development Goal 16, 'Peace, justice and strong institutions'.

Participants will exchange ideas, knowledge and tools that will help their countries further contribute to achieving SDG16.
