4th Physical Connectivity Cluster Meeting: Addressing Digital Divides

The COVID-19 pandemic has demonstrated that the need for digital infrastructure is ever more paramount. However, significant infrastructure gaps and digital divides remain within and among different Commonwealth countries, in terms of access, affordability and the quality of infrastructure.

Addressing challenges

This event will explore how members can work together to address these challenges, in light of the COVID-19 pandemic and assist countries in economic recovery through effective infrastructure policy interventions  

The sessions will be chaired by The Gambia as the cluster lead, represented by Abdoulie Jammeh, Deputy Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Trade, Industry, Regional Integration and Employment

Sessions

  • Session 1: Infrastructure prioritisation in post-COVID-19 recovery
  • Session 2: Country experiences on successes and challenges in relation to the provision or use of digital infrastructure for COVID-19 and beyond.
  • Session 3:  Implementation of the principles of sustainable investment in digital infrastructure.
  • Session 4: Way forward to the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting in June 2021
