Passports must be valid for at least six months from the date of arrival. Visas are required by most Commonwealth nationals. Plant and animal material must be declared and might be quarantined.

There are no domestic flights; visitors can travel between the islands by boat. A limited number of taxis and minibuses operate in Tuvalu.
Prevalent diseases where appropriate precautionary measures are recommended include dengue fever, hepatitis A, hepatitis B and typhoid.
