Breaking Barriers - The Audacity to Succeed, part of Black History Month 2021: "Proud to Be"

Event date: 29 October 2021, 14:00 - 16:00

October is Black History Month in the UK, and the Commonwealth Secretariat has joined the celebration by hosting a series of activities this month under the theme, "Proud to Be".

The activities will culminate with this virtual fireside chat, which will spotlight a diverse group of notable public figures who have achieved success despite the many barriers encountered along the way.

Our distinguished panel will share their experiences, challenges, and perspectives on their individual success journeys and provide insight into how they were able to break barriers, overcome adversity and have the audacity to succeed.

Speakers include Secretary-General of the Commonwealth, the Rt Hon Patricia Scotland QC, Olaoluwa Samuel-Biyi, Partner, Hacked Systems and Edgar Chibaka, Co-Founder and Director, First Response Group Ltd.

The webinar will also provide participants with tools to promote equality, diversity and inclusion throughout the Commonwealth and globally. An interactive question and answer segment will follow the discussion.
