Commonwealth supports regional youth development facility in Zambia

Commonwealth Deputy Secretary-General Mmasekgoa Masire-Mwamba received Zambia’s Minister of Youth and Sport Chishimba Kambwili at the Commonwealth’s headquarters in Marlborough House this week. They discussed the ongoing renewal of the Commonwealth Youth Programme.

Commonwealth Deputy Secretary-General Mmasekgoa Masire-Mwamba received Zambia’s Minister of Youth and Sport Chishimba Kambwili at the Commonwealth’s headquarters in Marlborough House this week. They discussed the ongoing renewal of the Commonwealth Youth Programme. 

The Commonwealth will support the Government of Zambia to transition the Commonwealth Youth Programme Africa Centre in Lusaka into a national and regional youth development facility. This facility is to have continued links to the Commonwealth Youth Programme.

Mrs Masire-Mwamba assured the minister of the Commonwealth’s commitment to strengthen its youth development programme across its membership, through more effective ways of delivery. She also expressed the Commonwealth’s deep appreciation to the Government of Zambia for hosting the Africa Centre for the last 40 years.
