Consultant - Commonwealth Project to Raise Awareness of P/CVE in Prisons Services in Guyana, Cameroon, and Jamaica

The Countering Violent Extremism Unit (CVE Unit) of the Commonwealth Secretariat is seeking a consultant to be contracted to develop and deliver workshops that provide high-level training and awareness about violent extremism and strategies for preventing violent extremism in prisons for the prisons services of: Guyana, Jamaica and Cameroon. 

The consultant(s) will be responsible for: Agenda/Curriculum development; high-level workshops; and summary/outcomes report.

Cameroon, Guyana and Jamaica has each requested the Commonwealth Secretariat CVE Unit’s support to train representatives from their national prisons services’ and their relevant multi-agency partners through a high-level awareness raising and strategy workshop in each country that includes senior officials and officers of the national prison services.

To be considered for this opportunity, you will need to have a multidisciplinary team or demonstrated experience presenting about a multidisciplinary approach to prisons management. You will also need a minimum 10 years’ experience in preventing violent extremism and/or prisoner management and rehabilitation for high-risk offenders; experience of assignments for leading international development organisations such as UN, Commonwealth or bi-lateral donor agencies; in-depth knowledge of development issues and management in developing country contexts; substantive experience in developing training curricula that brings technical information to audiences in a way that is accessible; high-level communication and facilitation skills, especially for engaging with stakeholders and workshop participants; and knowledge and experience of work in Commonwealth societies.
